Just off Big Creek Road, this photo shows dead Myrtle Beech trees with a logging road in the foreground. It was apparent from this site that logging had been conducted within 10 metres of cool temperate rainforest. Photo taken July 2001.
July 2001. Near to Big Creek Road, photo shows logging road within only a few metres of cool temperate rainforest. The brown leaves are dead Myrtle Beech leaves. This photo proves that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment are logging within buffer zones of Cool Temperate Rainforest in the Central Highlands. This is a breach of the Code of Forest Practices. PaperlinX is also profiting from this practice. |
