September 03: View from the Baw Baw Plateau - Mt Saint Gwinear - looking north east into Thomson Reservoir Catchment (Melbourne's and much of Central Gippslands' drinking water). Logging is occurring in this catchment with much of the timber ending up as woodchips to feed the Maryvale pulp mill. The woodchips are made into Reflex Copy Paper.

September 03: Loch River - LaTrobe River Catchment - Central Highlands. This photo taken from Hancock owned pine plantations. Note logging coupes of native forest by Victorian State Government. This area is the town water supply for the town of Noojee. 80% of the timber sourced from these coupes will end up as woodchips for Reflex Copy Paper.

September 03: Non regenerating log landing in Loch River coupe. Central Highlands - LaTrobe River catchment.

September 03: Retained old growth Loch River catchment. This is a more positive outcome and conservationists are united in calling for PaperlinX to stop the logging of old growth timber. Old growth timber from other forest areas is still being converted into paper pulp at the Maryvale pulp mill.

September 03: Regenerating native forest near log landing in Loch River catchment. Note soil disturbance. This is located in Noojee's water supply and is located in the Central Highlands region of Victoria.

September 03: Native forest likely to be converted into Reflex Copy Paper. Loch Valley - Central Highlands region.

This coupe was burnt in April 2003 and is located in the Acheron Valley catchment below Mt Vinegar (Goulburn River catchment). Sawlogs taken from these coupes are likely to be milled at local sawmills. The waste produce from the sawlogs (woodchips) is then sold to either PaperlinX or sold to Japanese based woodchippers and exported from Geelong.

September 2003: Central Highlands - View across the coupe below Mt Vinegar. Chips from this site either go to PaperlinX or are exported to Japan via Midways woodchip mill or Pitcher Partners owned Fibre Exports.

September 2003: Image taken from inside burnt forest adjoining the coupe on Mt Vinegar. This is located outside PaperlinX's concession zone, but chips are still likely to end up at Maryvale woodchip mill.

September 2003: Image of coupe (logged 2001) along Feaglans Track, Acheron Valley - Goulburn River catchment.

September 2003: Extensive logging at the Feaglans Track intersection with the Mount Strickland Track, Acheron Valley. The forest on the right is the O'Shannesy water catchment and that is part of the Yarra Ranges National Park. Note the dead trees killed by harvesting process.

Septmebr 2003: Coupe (logged 2003), along the Feaglans Track, Acheron Valley. View from log landing (Central Forest Management Area - Goulburn River catchment).

September 2003: Coupe (logged 2002/03), north west of Mt Bullfight along the Bullfight Track. (Goulburn River Catchment). Note the mature age trees damaged/killed by the harvesting process. These forests in the Royston Valley contain extensive mixed aged trees (central FMA). These coupes are outside of PaperlinX's concession zone but woodchips from this coupe have a high chance of ending up at Maryvale pulp mill.

September 2003: Images of severe blackberry infestation near Snobs Gap Mt Bullfight. These images were taken within existing coupes and in forests adjoining them.
